Updated October 16, 2026: rewritten with specs checked against Roborock’s official pages and manual, independent test results, a new comparison, a FAQ, and corrections to the earlier version. Prices change often, so we no longer quote one; use the buttons to see today’s Amazon price.

Quick answer: The Roborock Qrevo S5V (often searched as the “Roborock S5V”) is a mid-range robot vacuum and mop with a dock that empties the dustbin, washes the mops, warm-air dries them and refills the water tank. Roborock rates it at 12,000 Pa of suction, and independent testers found it strong on carpet and mopping for its class, with mixed results on pet hair. It is a good fit for a home with mixed hard floors and low-pile rugs where you want the robot to run with little attention. The trade-offs: a small dustbin on the robot (about 325 mL), obstacle avoidance that testers rated as weak, a 2.4 GHz-only Wi-Fi connection, and mop washing that is not hot-water (the step-up Qrevo S Pro washes at up to 167°F).

  • Buy it for: a full self-emptying, self-washing dock, 10 mm mop lift for low-pile carpet, FlexiArm edge mopping and LiDAR mapping for up to 4 floors.
  • Skip it if: your floor is often covered in cables, socks or pet accidents (look at a robot with camera-based avoidance), you want hot-water mop washing, or your router is 5 GHz-only.

How the Qrevo S5V performs

Cleaning on carpet, hard floors and pet hair

Independent testing is positive on carpet and mopping but mixed on pet hair. Vacuum Wars found strong carpet deep-cleaning, good pet-hair pickup and mopping that beat many competitors, while noting average-to-below-average suction and airflow on its bench tests. TechGearLab (review dated December 9, 2025) ranked it #7 of 23 robots with an overall score of 73: carpet cleaning 8.6/10 (it picked up about 80% of the debris scattered on carpet), hard-floor cleaning and mopping 7.0/10, ease of use 8.9/10, but pet hair only 5.1/10. Treat the 12,000 Pa figure as a manufacturer’s maximum, not a guarantee of the best cleaning in every test.

Mopping and the dock

The two spinning pads press and rotate (up to 200 RPM) to scrub dried-on spots, and the FlexiArm mop reaches into concave corners. The mops lift 10 mm when the robot detects carpet, which protects short-pile rugs but is not enough for thick, deep-pile rugs; set those as no-mop zones in the app. The dock washes the pads in three stages, dries them with warm air and refills the tank, and the 2.7 L bag means you only touch the trash every few weeks. Roborock does not describe hot-water mop washing for this model, so it is a step below the Qrevo S Pro for greasy kitchen floors.

Navigation, obstacle avoidance and the app

LiDAR mapping is fast and reliable, and the robot can store up to four floors. Obstacle avoidance uses a structured-light sensor rather than a camera, and Vacuum Wars rated it poor and TechGearLab found it avoided only about half of the obstacles in its test course (and hit four of six simulated pet messes), so pick up charging cables, socks and pet toys first. The same reviewers found the app less polished than Roborock’s higher-end models. It supports Alexa, Google Assistant and Siri Shortcuts, and the robot connects to a 2.4 GHz network only. If you are building a voice-controlled home, our smart home hub guide covers how those ecosystems differ.

Noise, battery and upkeep

TechGearLab measured 54.7 dB at standard suction and 66 dB while the dock empties the dustbin, so the loudest moment is the short emptying burst. The 5,200 mAh battery is rated by Amazon’s listing at up to 180 minutes, and Vacuum Wars estimated about 1,240 square feet per charge. Because the robot’s own dustbin is small (about 325 mL), it will return to the dock more often in a home with a lot of pet hair.

Pros and cons

  • ✅ Full dock: auto-empty, mop washing, warm-air drying and tank refill in one station.
  • ✅ Strong carpet cleaning for its class in independent tests (8.6/10 at TechGearLab).
  • ✅ FlexiArm edge mopping and dual spinning mops that lift 10 mm on carpet.
  • ✅ LiDAR mapping with up to 4 floor maps, and 30 water-flow levels.
  • ✅ Quiet while cleaning (about 55 dB measured at standard suction).
  • ❌ Weak obstacle avoidance compared with camera-based robots.
  • ❌ Small robot dustbin (about 325 mL) and a pet-hair score of only 5.1/10 at TechGearLab.
  • ❌ 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only, and a less polished app than Roborock’s flagships.
  • ❌ No hot-water mop washing (the Qrevo S Pro washes at up to 167°F).
  • ❌ Mixed reliability reports: on Amazon (4.1 stars from roughly 1,800 ratings on October 16, 2026), a share of reviewers mention units that stopped working or cat hair clogging the brushes.

  • Roborock Qrevo S Pro: the closest step-up. It has higher rated suction and hot-water mop washing, so it suits kitchens and homes that mop often. Compare the two prices before choosing, because the S5V’s main advantage is usually cost.
  • eufy Omni E25: a roller mop that rinses itself while it works, an extendable corner arm and a camera for obstacle detection. A better pick for sticky messes and cluttered floors; the trade-off is a shorter runtime.
  • Lefant M3: a lower-cost dock with hot-water mop washing and 5 GHz Wi-Fi support, but a smaller brand with a thinner track record.

Who should buy the Roborock Qrevo S5V?

  • Buy it if you want a hands-off vacuum and mop for a home that is mostly hard floors with some low-pile rugs.
  • Buy it if you value a self-washing dock and Roborock’s app, and you do not need a camera for obstacle detection.
  • Skip it if you have deep-pile carpet everywhere, a lot of floor clutter, or you want hot-water mop washing.
  • Skip it if you want the largest possible onboard dustbin or need 5 GHz Wi-Fi.

Verdict

The Roborock Qrevo S5V is a capable, low-maintenance vacuum-and-mop combo that does the basics well: it cleans carpets better than its mid-range price suggests, mops with real pressure, and takes care of itself at the dock. Its weak points are avoidable if you tidy the floor first and do not need hot-water mop washing. If obstacle avoidance matters more to you, or you want hotter mop washing, step up to the Qrevo S Pro or a camera-equipped robot like the eufy E25.

Roborock Qrevo S5V FAQ

Is the Roborock Qrevo S5V good for pet hair?

Results are mixed. It uses a DuoDivide rubber main brush and an anti-tangle side brush, and Vacuum Wars found good pet-hair pickup, but TechGearLab scored its pet-hair performance only 5.1/10, and some Amazon reviewers report cat hair clogging the brushes. If you have heavy shedders, plan to check the brushes regularly. The small robot dustbin (about 325 mL) also fills faster in a home with a lot of shedding.

Does the Qrevo S5V wash and dry its own mops?

Yes. The dock washes the spinning mops in three stages (slow pre-wash, rinse, high-speed spin), dries them with warm air, and refills the robot’s water tank. It does not use hot water for washing; the Qrevo S Pro washes at up to 167°F.

How often do I have to empty the dust bag?

The dock empties the robot into a 2.7 L E12-rated bag. Roborock’s US store page says up to 7 weeks without manual emptying (other Roborock pages cite 7–9 weeks or 10 weeks), so expect the real interval to depend on your home and pets.

Can the Qrevo S5V mop carpet?

No, and it is designed not to. When it detects carpet, the mops lift 10 mm so low-pile rugs stay dry. That is not enough clearance for thick, deep-pile rugs, so set those as no-mop zones in the Roborock app.

Does it work with Alexa, Google Home and Siri, and does it need 5 GHz Wi-Fi?

It works with Alexa, Google Assistant and Siri Shortcuts, but the robot only connects to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network; 5 GHz is not supported. Our smart home hub guide explains how the voice ecosystems compare.

Should I buy the Roborock Qrevo S5V or the Qrevo S Pro?

Choose the S5V if you want a full self-washing dock at the lower price tier and mostly clean everyday dust and dirt. Choose the S Pro if you want higher rated suction (18,500 Pa) and hot-water mop washing for greasy kitchen floors. Check both prices on Amazon, because the gap changes often.
